The NukeLight is a ‘high intensity’ bicycle lamp which has been designed to dazzle anyone in its path with a beam of pure electron pulse-wave, neutrino based boron enhanced photons. Or something. The result is a beam which can blind a rabbit at 100 metres. A somewhat positive side-effect of all this bright-eyes stuff is the fact that it may help you avoid being flattened by a bus as you cycle home. Which is a Good Thing. Oh and you can also charge it via USB. $70.00 ish.

The Dosun J-1 Safety Pedal is a bicyclist’s best friend, especially if you have to ride after sundown. Powered by micro generators in the pedal, with eight LED lights per pedal, you’ll be sure to be seen in nighttime traffic. These cool-looking pedals will flash for 90 seconds after just 30 seconds of pedaling and they’re rain proof, even in a heavy downpour.
A word of caution. Some countries could have a problem with them where the law says the forward-facing light must be white. Otherwise, at $40 a pair, these will give bikers more visibility – a great idea!
Fit a Pedal Power AC Dynamo Charger to the front wheel of your bicycle and you’re guaranteed juice for your phone, GPS and any other electrical gadget. Just as long as you keep pedalling to keep it all topped up. Jolly innovative. There’s no word yet on whether a tandem will be enough to keep a television and fridge working, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear
The Yakkay Bicycle Helmet from Denmark, comes in two parts. The hard bit which protects your noggin from damage and a cute cover part which lets you style the thing to resemble a normal hat. We’re particularly taken with the pink ladies version, which reminds us of a time when men were men and tiffin on the lawn meant cucumber sandwiches and cream. Or something. The optional ear warmers are a nice touch too, and we like the fact you can change covers on a whim or to match your outfit. Priced at £90/€105/$145.00 complete.
The Gocycle is the world’s lightest production electric bicycle, weighing in at a measly 16.2kg. It offers a range of up to 20 miles, a top speed of 15 mph and a recharge time of 3.5 hours. Sealed for life chain, suspension system, three speed gearing and a price tag of £1,158.00. Pretty little thing!
The Zigo ($995) is a modular bicycle that allows you to carry a couple of kids in the ChildPod up front, which makes it easier to keep an eye on them while you're riding. It features the LeaderLink System allows the Leader to uncouple in 30 seconds or less, transforming it into the separate elements, Zigo ChildPod and Zigo Cycle. A multi-fun bicycle!
